About the event
Our journey through life can leave a lasting imprint on our nervous system. This workshop explores how trauma and life experiences shape our physiological and energetic states through the lens of both polyvagal theory and the yogic concept of the three gunas (the inherent qualities present in all living beings).
We’ll move through a series of physical shapes, neurosensory exercises, and breathing practices that tap into each guna:
Rajas: the passionate, activating energy that fuels inspiration, and creativity.
Tamas: the grounding, stabilizing energy that supports rest and stillness
Sattva: the state of harmony, balance, and clarity
You’ll learn how these energetic qualities overlap with modern science of polyvagal theory by exploring practical tools for shifting between each nervous system state and channeling each of your gunas based on what arises in life.
